West Coast Capital has bolstered legal and strategic counsel within the private equity partnership with the appointment of Paul Davidson as its third partner.
West Coast Capital (“WCC”) has bolstered legal and strategic counsel within the private equity partnership with the appointment of Paul Davidson (40) as its third partner.
Davidson joins WCC at the end of January 2006 from legal firm, McGrigors where he was a partner and head of corporate, prior to which he held a senior position in JKX, an LSE listed energy business operating in the Former Soviet Union.
“We have ambitious growth targets for WCC and Paul’s appointment will help us deliver on those targets over the next five to ten years. The combination of a sharp legal brain complimented by a strong commercial focus makes Paul the ideal addition to the team – in football parlance he strengthens the midfield with an ability to strike at the right moment.” Noted WCC chairman, Sir Tom Hunter.
He joins Hunter and Jim McMahon, partner at WCC and will also play a role in the venture philanthropy, The Hunter Foundation (“THF”). Davidson has provided legal counsel to WCC and THF since their inception and has been involved in virtually every commercial deal the partnership has delivered.
Jim McMahon added;
“Paul brings heavyweight legal and strategic counsel to the partnership. We have benefited from good, commercially focused legal advice from McGrigors and look forward to a continuing close relationship with the firm.”
Kirk Murdoch, McGrigors senior partner in Scotland, commented:
"We wish Paul every success in his new role and appreciate the contribution he has made at McGrigors. In particular he has helped to build a strong team of young corporate lawyers. Our focus will now be to develop our relationship with WCC and to assist them in delivering their commercial goals."
